Abstract Submission: December 22, 2023

An abstract is a brief summary of a research paper, thesis, or dissertation that concisely reports the aims and outcomes of your research . It should be written in a way that readers can understand the purpose of your work, the methods you’ve used, and the conclusions you’ve drawn. The structure of an abstract may vary slightly depending on your discipline, but it usually follows the IMRaD structure, which stands for Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion . Abstracts are usually around 250 words, but there’s often a strict word limit, so make sure to check the relevant requirements . In a dissertation or thesis, include the abstract on a separate page, after the title page and acknowledgements but before the table of contents .
